Several days recently we have had fog and it has hung around longer than usual. And as usual, I have enjoyed looking into and walking in it. Fog for me is full of mystery and wonder and is a metaphor for so much of our lives. We often can not see what is there in front of us. Fog teaches us that that is ok and can thereby relieve us of some of the stresses of our lives. There is so much that we do not and can not know about what will appear next in our lives; if we learn to realize and accept this we can just watch with wonder and curiosity as something new appears out of and something else fades back into the mist that surrounds every moment of our lives. There is promise and hope in this, both of which we need, perhaps now more than ever in these days of uncertainty.
