Witches' Gully, the Dells, Wisconsin
Patrick Shen: "there is a limit to what our intellect can grasp and . . . there are aspects to our lives that exist beyond our words and thoughts . . . (However from) kindergarten through adulthood we are expected to color within the lines and as a result, we have developed a habit of dissecting reality, of intellectual discrimination, and thinking that there is a word, concept, text book or theoretical model to encapsulate just about everything. What are we to do with the empty spaces beyond the prescribed lines of the coloring sheet? Are the empty spaces not part of the whole canvas as well."
